Francisco Torres has built his career on guiding clients

Litigation and Advocacy
Francisco maintains a robust civil litigation practice, representing
clients in business disputes, construction and lien matters, damages, and appeals. He has appeared before the Court of Appeal, Court of King’s Bench, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Provincial Court, and the Alberta Securities Commission, as well as in mediations and arbitrations. His advocacy is characterized by meticulous preparation, persuasive clarity, and a deep understanding of judicial process.
Corporate and Commercial Practice
Francisco advises on business structuring, Unanimous Shareholder Agreements, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, and leasing matters. His extensive litigation background provides him with a rare and practical perspective on how corporate and contractual arrangements operate in real-world disputes. Drawing on more than a decade of experience, he combines analytical precision with strategic foresight to advance his clients’ commercial objectives with efficiency and confidence.
International Practice
Francisco’s practice extends throughout Canada, the USA, Carribean,
and Latin America. His international experience includes extensive due diligence for investment, fraud detection, and long term strategy. Francisco acts as a consultant and liaison for international disputes, inclusive of international Arbitration, and local governmental/tax affairs.
Educated in both common and civil law, and fluent in Spanish and French, he is uniquely positioned to assist clients operating across multiple legal systems and cultures. His international work reflects a nuanced understanding of global business and a capacity to bridge legal frameworks with clarity and precision.
Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Francisco plays hockey, pickleball, and golf. His hobbies include world history, politics, physics, and chess. He and his son are learning the piano, and he especially loves spending time watching a good movie or game with friends and family.
Fun fact: Unintentionally, Francisco is an amateur Wedding’s
Master of Ceremonies (MC). He has had the privilege of serving as MC at eight weddings — and is not opposed to doing it again.
